It features bright green, lobed leaves that become glossy and dark green in summer before turning a bright yellow in the fall. It produces small, inconspicuous flowers in spring and, on female plants, small red berries that are not typically considered edible. This shrub is known for being low-maintenance, tough, adaptable, and disease-resistant, making it excellent for hedges, borders, and mass plantings.
