The plant features numerous delicate, single flowers, about 1 inch in diameter, which are a striking carmine or cherry-pink color with a contrasting dark red or crimson center (eye) and veining. The petals are heart-shaped and evenly spaced. It blooms from late spring or early summer through much of the summer, or even into early autumn with deadheading. Growing to a height of about 10-14 inches (25-35 cm) and a spread of 1-2 feet (30-60 cm), it has a mounded, spreading growth habit with wiry, branching stems.
