Thick, ovate leaves, and covered in fine, soft hairs. The tips are adorned with 3 to 10 prominent "teeth". Typically bright green, but when exposed to ample bright sunlight, the tips turn deep red. Variegated versions feature cream or white striping. Grows compactly, reaching up to 12 to 20 inches in height and width as a houseplant, flowers during spring, it produces clusters of nodding, bell-shaped flowers in vibrant shades of orange, yellow, pink, or red.
